The power of assumption makes a person so small. In today’s day and age, when communication is considered so important; people are all connected to each other online, i.e. social media and other online methods but they have lost the human touch with each other. In recent times, I have realized and seen the same, people assume something about someone or they assume something of a certain situation and when it turns to be in their favor then they are happy. But when it doesn’t turn out in their favor, then they blame each other, they have misunderstandings, so why do we go about doing the same mistake over and over again.

Open that door, create that communication channel between each other and talk. This is something which is so important and people don’t realize the value until they have reached rock bottom. So why do you want to reach the rock bottom when you can make things better before that? Why do you want to assume certain things or create different aspirations when it’s not going to give you that result.

Have a deep think and then analyze how each one of you can make such a difference in one another’s life.

So, my husband thinks I get tired because I have put on weight. It’s not because of that but I feel that I am just tired of letting out energy which is of no reason and I am tired of going to places which involves lot of time in commuting which means there is no productivity. It makes sense to me to spend time with people who give me energy, people who lift me up rather than pull me down. It’s the time to appreciate things we have. This morning while getting out of my car, I broke my travel mug which was gifted to me by my sister. So, rather than sulking and being unhappy about it and letting my whole day go bad, I bought a rather similar looking mug from the same store which meant that I could use the accessories that were still in great condition from that broken mug. So, appreciate things you have. Let go of things or people that are of no use.

Life is short and time is just flying. Nothing is permanent, everything is passing. This is the same teaching that I have got from our guru in Vipassana Meditation. This is something that I feel and I am bringing into my daily routine. Spend time with your loved ones and with people who matter the most to you, spend time doing things you love.

Appreciate the things that you have, appreciate the people you have in your life. Let go of social media, online attention; let go of your smart phones, be in the moment. TIME is the best gift you can give someone. Give them love regardless of whatever you get from them in return. The more negative energy I receive from anyone, the more my heart wants to give to them in the form of love and compassion.

Also, spend time doing things that you love because that’s going to make you feel much better and it’s going to make your life fuller rather than doing something mundane and feel de-energized. This is what I would like to say to the world on a day like Diwali; a festival that means a lot to all the Indians around the world. Diwali is a festival of lights, so spread the message of love and light to everyone. Everyone is here for a reason and we are all filling our energy and our daily lives with these feelings and thoughts.

So, here’s wishing you all a very Happy Diwali and wishing everyone a great and prosperous new year !!

A glass of water.

Is this half empty or half full ? Different people will look at it differently. It's a matter of perception. A glass which is half full, still has the quality or ability to quench someone's thirst. It can still be present, should anyone want to have water later. But if you look at it from the other side, a glass half empty, might not be of full use, it may need to get refilled.

In this post, I have simply used a glass of water as a metaphor. This simply boils down to how you want to see things. Thinking deeper, if think about you or your life as a half or full glass of water, then there is so much you can offer to others, in terms of advice, support, help, inspirations, just to name a few. And to add, only if your glass is full, then can you offer that glass to others to quench their thirst. If you are complete and you are something to offer, then that is taken in the right perspective. In order for you to spread love and positivity, it needs to come from you first. You should be full of love, compassion and positivity in order to spread the same to others.

“Always look at things in a positive way. They say a coin has two sides. Same way, any story or situation has two sides. Looking at it from the positive perspective gives you the opportunity to explore your options. A person or a situation can never be negative, it's the way you look at it which gives you the positive or negative impact.”
